Door hinges and dashboard frames were all treated to a couple of generous coats of smooth black Hammerite.
Fitting the door hinge brackets is an interesting task, many have commented upon it. It is difficult to get a gentleman’s fingers into position to fit the top machine screw and the tedium of tightening it a sixth of a turn with a modified Allen key is a right ballache. The answer is to open the end of the top slot, pre-fix the top machine screw so it only requires a couple of twists to secure and the bracket can be slid into position using the open slot.

The general metalwork for under-dash is treated to a couple of coats of smooth black Hammerite, never seen but always protected.
